This interactive course will include varied language activities on several of the key challenges facing the world at this time
Opportunities for research, presentation and discussion are embedded into the course content.
Project work linked to the local environment is an integral part of the course.
Course participants will be provided with a wide range of teaching resources that they can use in their future teaching.

Whatever the context, language teaching provides a fantastic opportunity for sustainability to be incorporated into curricula, teaching materials, classroom activities, project work, assessment and teacher training.This practical and interactive course will therefore focus on key areas in which educators and learning institutions can make a difference, by providing learners with the skills and language to create a greener and more sustainable world.
Laptops and internet access are necessary for this course.
Aims and objectives:
- To enable participants to teach a wide range of green topics in their own language classrooms.
- To provide a variety of teaching and learning resources linked to the present-day green conversation.
- To develop participants’ presentation skills through language activities and project work.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the course, participants will be:
- Have had a wide exposure to the language and vocabulary necessary for successful teaching of green issues and sustainability.
- Have taken part in numerous presentations and activities – including an extensive project – linked to the course topic.
- Be equipped with a wide range of up-to-date resources to enable them to teach this topic in their own language learning classrooms.
- Have been exposed to a variety of classroom teaching techniques linked to the development of their students’ 21st Century Skills: cooperation, critical thinking, communication, creativity and culture.
