Description:
This course is designed for secondary teachers aiming to enhance their teaching of literacy and numeracy skills through the methodology of the Cambridge international curriculum. The training will explore innovative strategies to support young learners in developing foundational reading, writing, and mathematical skills. Emphasis will be placed on inclusive practices, differentiated learning, and formative assessment. The course combines theory with practice, enabling participants to apply new tools and techniques in their own classrooms.
Aims and objectives
– To introduce participants to the Cambridge approach to literacy and numeracy
– To strengthen participants’ ability to teach key concepts in reading, writing, and math
– To explore inclusive and differentiated instructional techniques
– To develop skills for assessing student progress effectively
– To encourage the exchange of good practices between international peers
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
– Apply Cambridge-aligned strategies in literacy and numeracy teaching
– Design engaging lessons tailored to different learner levels
– Foster critical thinking and problem-solving in early learners
– Use formative assessment tools to monitor student progress
– Reflect on and improve their classroom practices based on peer input

Target groups:
- Secondary school teachers and subject teachers working with early learners, especially those teaching English or using bilingual/multilingual approaches.
Minimum level of language: At least B1 level in English is recommended for active participation.
Duration of training: 25 lessons, 5 days, Monday to Friday, with 5 teaching blocks (45 minutes each) per day
