English teacher, coursebook author and editor, teacher trainer

His career in English Language Teaching began in 1990 in a secondary school in Budapest (Teleki Blanka Gimnázium) while completing his studies in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) at ELTE University of Budapest. He graduated with an MA in TEFL in 1993, writing his thesis on a critical analysis of the English school-leaving examinations in Hungary.

Between 1994 and 1999, he worked as a Hungarian translator of English-language literary and popular science titles for the Európa Könyvkiadó and Magyar Könyvklub publishing houses in Budapest.

Between 1999 and 2011, he worked in the UK, in the English Language Teaching editorial department of Oxford University Press, in Oxford (then from 2007 in Budapest). He was involved in the development of English language courses for teenagers (lower and upper secondary) as well as adult learners, including the Matrix, Project, Horizons and Solutions series.

From 2012, he has been working as a freelance author, editor and consultant for international publishing houses. Titles that he was involved in have been published by Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Macmillan, Pearson and Richmond. He has contributed to the development of a number of teacher’s books, methodology handbooks, practice tests, cultural supplements and testing materials.

As a co-author, he has published several exam preparation courses, including Achieve (OUP, Oxford), Straight to Advanced (Macmillan, London), Oxford Exam Trainer (OUP, Oxford) and the B2 Exam Trainer (telc, Frankfurt).

He has also delivered teacher training courses, seminars and talks at international conferences in over 30 countries worldwide.
