Description:
This course introduces the Universal Design for Learning framework, a research-based approach that helps teachers design accessible and engaging learning experiences for all students. Participants learn how to plan lessons that support different learning styles, abilities and needs, including SEN, gifted, EAL and neurodiverse learners.
Aims and Objectives
Participants will:
- Understand the principles of UDL and learning variability
- Learn how to design lessons that offer multiple means of engagement, representation and expression
- Explore practical strategies for inclusive instruction
- Develop tools for accessible assessment and feedback
- Learn to adapt teaching materials for diverse classrooms
Learning Outcomes
Participants will be able to:
- Apply UDL principles in everyday planning
- Adapt tasks, materials and assessments for accessibility
- Support students with SEN, ADHD, ASD, EAL and gifted learners
- Build inclusive classroom routines and expectations
- Integrate assistive technologies into teaching
