I spent a week in Malaga with my colleagues, Bernadett Nagy and Valeria Somogyine Mokrai to do job shadowing from 15th to 22nd of May 2022. This program was organised for us by Malaga Instituto. It was a perfect week. Everything was got up very well. On our first day we got a transfer from the airport to get to our accommodation. It was very useful as we had never been to Malaga before. We had an accommodation with full board so we didn’t need to look for places to eat on our own. We had useful and interesting programmes for the whole week organised by the institute but beside of that we had enough free time to get to know almost the whole city. On Monday we met our coordinator who showed us the institute and Spanish lessons there. On Tuesday we could join a beginner Spanish course where we could see students from different ages and countries. Their only common language was English but they weren’t allowed to use it. They were allowed to use only Spanish and the teachers used only this language, too. To help them understand the new expressions they acted them out using gestures, facial expressions or pictures. On Wednesday we could take part on an on-live course. We could see the tools what they use to give lessons online (huge TV screens and webcams). And we could try out their online teaching materials on our laptops. We enjoyed learning Spanish very much. I loved these two days so much that I decided I would like to learn Spanish language in the future. On Thursday and Friday we went to a local secondary school where we could see different lessons. The head master led us around the school. We saw their bookmark competition, their library with nice blue hand-made owls, a football shirt of Juan Rodríguez (famous Spanish footballer) and the works of art of the students and so on. We saw different lessons for example English, Biology, Art and PE. On these lessons the teachers handled the teenagers very well. They weren’t strict but the students paid attention on the lessons. They didn’t use a lot of IT tools or work forms but the students enjoyed the lessons. So I learnt that sometimes less is more
